RATP — Paris Public Transport Authority
Context
In 2021, the RATP group carried out its first digital environmental assessment — on an Excel file. In 2024, the IT sustainability lead decided to make this process more reliable with a certified solution. At the same time, management mandated that all internal IT projects undergo an environmental assessment before launch — ESG criteria became mandatory for any investment request. This called for a platform covering both: the group's carbon footprint AND the environmental assessment of each project.
What Verdikt Did
Verdikt supported RATP in assessing the ESG impact of its IT across all three pillars — Planet, People, Profit — covering the EPIC entity and its 200,000+ assets. Beyond the assessment, Verdikt embedded ESG criteria directly into RATP's digital project governance. Major IT investments: from video storage infrastructure to train line supervision systems and workplace fleet renewal; were modeled and compared on both financial and environmental grounds: before/after scenarios, CO₂, energy, water and resource impact, side by side with cost. The result: a single platform giving RATP both a group-wide carbon footprint and project-by-project decision support, turning impact data into an input for investment committees, not just a reporting exercise.
