Our CEO’s Insight: Key takeaways from our series of events
What a series of events!
🇬🇧 Reset Connect London: A first for Verdikt, the UK’s leading event for sustainability and impact investments. Here are my key takeaways from these two days:
- A sustainability and net-zero exhibition going beyond technological topics to include all themes of the SDG.
- The CSRD regulation is taking center stage, along with the increasing number of consulting and solutions addressing these challenges.
- Sustainability topics driving all business lines: finance, supply chain, HR, IT, and of course, AI.
🌱 GreenTech Forum Brussels: For this occasion, I was invited to speak at conferences alongside Manaelle P. – Wemanity Group, Julien Rouzé – Sopht, Diego Eguidazu – European Patent Office, Tobias Strelow – Lufthansa Group. Articulating our convictions, honed through experience as a former CIO, is crucial. These privileged moments highlight the importance of measurement—persuading with facts and figures, rather than relying solely on best practices, which alone are insufficient for fostering improvement over time.
This principle holds particularly true in large organizations, where the need for flexibility surrounds the overall strategic vision over time. The challenge is to provide them with granular country-level assessments and multifaceted reporting across executive, operational, and regulatory tiers—facilitating comprehensive on-site discussions.
🚀 Vivatech: Once again, Verdikt had the chance to participate in the largest trade show dedicated to technology and startups in Europe. This year, the Women Entrepreneurs program of Orange, of which I’m a member, earned Verdikt a place in their exhibition space. Amidst the hustle and bustle, we had the privilege of hosting over a hundred meetings. These one-on-one conversations and tours organized by Hub Institute and Wavestone were brimming with insights. We exchanged ideas with the brilliant minds behind COMEX Orange, Orange Consulting, Orange Innovation, Orange Business as well as representatives from esteemed institutions in the banking, insurance, retail and industry sectors.
📚 CRIP Universities: This year, Sustainable IT was introduced as a new theme at this flagship CRIP event. It was an opportunity for us to pitch alongside all the ecosystem players EasyVirt, Sopht, Agence-e, Oxygen IT, and attend numerous plenaries – notably the one by Agnes Compte, responsible for Sustainable IT at Banque de France, on how to implement eco-design to reduce the footprint of software as well as the one by Frédérique Lefranc, Project manager at My money bank, on her insights into how to raise awareness among its users to adopt best IT practices.
🏆 DIMS 2024: Two days of events at our stronghold: Station F. Impossible to miss. It was an opportunity to exhibit with our partner KH Corporate, meet IT professionals during lunches organized by IMA, and win the best pitch award in the “Tech for Good” category thanks to our speaker duo Chloé Noel and Olivier Bernard.
🤝 Ready for IT: Held at the renowned Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, this event is a staple on the agendas of IT decision-makers. The event was filled with high-quality conferences, most of which delved into cybersecurity matters, as well as topical themes such as startups, IT sustainability and AI. This show was rich in exchanges with numerous key players ready to launch projects in the medium term as well as pitches and interviews on Green IT … In particular for the Frenchweb media with Jean-Luc Raymond and alongside Custocy and Beamy.
To sum up, Sustainable IT is an issue of growing significance for IT departments. It will occupy a prominent place on the agenda, not just as a one-time initiative but as a long-term priority. As CIOs, you will no longer have the option to implement digital transformations without also making them sustainable.
Do not delay – join us in this final part of the year if you have not yet place this subject to the top of your 2024 priority list :
